At American Adorn, we are dedicated to ensuring the quality of our craftsmanship and your satisfaction with our crafted, jewellery. This policy outlines the terms and conditions under which items purchased from American Adorn may be eligible for exchange or store credit. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.

1. General Policy: Exchange or Store Credit Only

  • No Refunds: Please note that American Adorn does not offer refunds to the original method of payment for any purchases made through our website www.american-adorn.com or associated channels.
  • Exchange or Store Credit: For eligible items (see Section 2 below), we offer the option of an exchange for another item of equal or greater value (with payment of the difference) or the issuance of store credit valid for future purchases at American Adorn.

2. Eligibility for Exchange or Store Credit

  • Eligible Items: Standard, in-stock jewellery items, (excluding custom-made pieces) are potentially eligible for exchange or store credit.
  • Ineligible Items (Final Sale):
    • Custom Jewellery: All custom-made jewellery, bespoke orders, personalized items, engraved pieces, or items modified at your request are considered FINAL SALE. They are not eligible for return, exchange, or store credit. This is due to the unique nature of these pieces, crafted specifically to your requirements.
    • Sale Items: Items purchased during promotional sales or marked as clearance may be considered final sale and ineligible for exchange or store credit, as indicated at the time of purchase.
  • Timeframe: To be eligible for an exchange or store credit, you must initiate the request within 7 days from the date your order was delivered. Requests received after this period will not be accepted.
  • Condition: Items must be returned in their original, unworn, unused, and undamaged condition. They must include all original packaging, certificates (e.g., diamond grading reports, if applicable), tags, and accompanying materials. Items showing any signs of wear, alteration, resizing (unless performed by American Adorn prior to initial shipment), or damage will not be accepted for exchange or store credit. We reserve the right to refuse any return that does not meet these conditions.

3. How to Initiate an Exchange or Request Store Credit

To request an exchange or store credit for an eligible item, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Us: Email our Customer Service team at info@american-adorn.com within the eligible timeframe (see Section 2). Please include your order number, the item(s) you wish to  requesting an exchange (specify desired item if known) or store credit.
  2. Receive Authorization: Do not ship items back without prior authorization. Our team will review your request based on eligibility criteria. If approved, we will provide you with a Return Authorization (RA) number and detailed instructions, including the return shipping address.
  3. Package Your Return: Securely package the item(s) in the original packaging, including all accompanying materials. Clearly write the RA number on the outside of the package.
  4. Ship Your Return: You are responsible for arranging and paying for the return shipping costs. We strongly recommend using a trackable and insured shipping method, as American Adorn is not responsible for items lost or damaged during return transit. Proof of shipment does not constitute proof of receipt.

4. Processing Exchanges and Store Credits

  • Inspection: Once we receive your returned item, it will be inspected by our quality assurance team to ensure it meets the eligibility conditions outlined in Section 2. This process typically takes business days.
  • Exchange: If you requested an exchange and the returned item is approved:
    • If the new item is of equal value, we will process the exchange and ship the new item.
    • If the new item is of greater value, we will contact you to arrange payment for the price difference before shipping.
    • If the new item is of lesser value, the difference will be issued as store credit.
  • Store Credit: If you requested store credit and the returned item is approved, we will issue a store credit code via email for the original purchase price of the returned item. Store credit is typically valid for from the date of issue and can be used towards future purchases on our website. Store credit is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • Denied Returns: If the returned item does not meet our eligibility conditions (e.g., signs of wear, damage, missing parts, outside timeframe), we will notify you, and the item will be shipped back to you.

5. Damaged or Defective Items

  • Reporting: If you receive an item that is damaged during transit or has a verifiable manufacturing defect upon arrival, please contact us at info@american-adorn.com within 24 hours of delivery. Include your order number and clear photographs of the damage or defect and the packaging.
  • Resolution: Upon verification of transit damage or a manufacturing defect reported promptly with required evidence, we will work with you to find a suitable resolution. This typically involves arranging for a repair or replacement of the item at our discretion. For eligible standard items, an exchange or store credit may be offered if repair/replacement is not feasible. For Custom Jewellery with confirmed manufacturing defects, resolution will typically be limited to repair or replacement only, as these items remain final sale. We will cover reasonable return shipping costs for items confirmed by us to be defective upon arrival, provided you follow our return instructions.

6. Return Shipping Costs

  • General Returns (for Exchange/Credit): You are responsible for all costs associated with shipping eligible items back to us for exchange or store credit. 
  • Defective Items: If an item is confirmed by American Adorn to have a manufacturing defect or was damaged in transit (and reported correctly as per Section 5), we will provide instructions for return shipping, typically covering the cost.
